Remedial Coaching

The capabilities of students are diverse and teachers play a vital role in enhancing the set of actual and potential skills. Remedial coaching is one such programme that enables the students lacking basic subject knowledge to perform in a better way in order to reduce the dropout rates. This programme aims at improving linguistic proficiency, quantitative aptitude and the comprehension level of the students. In order to improve the overall performance of the students, our College has been undertaking this programme with the help of the departments.

Objective

? To help slow learners at Undergraduate level.

? To focus on papers requiring arithmetical skills.

? To strengthen the students` skills and guide them to pursue higher studies.

Coordinator

The College strives to develop the competencies in students to face the rising global challenges and competitions and remedial coaching is one such programme that is effectively moderated. At the College level, a Committee has been formed which in turn coordinates with the departments for the efficient conduct of remedial classes.

Members

The Remedial Coaching Committee is headed by a Coordinator and few representatives from certain departments to ascertain the smooth functioning of classes. Each department also forms a committee with an in-charge and their own faculty members who handle the classes.

Activities

The individual departments identify the slow learners based on their performance in classes and in exams and train them in the areas they lack knowledge. The remedial classes are conducted during the working days after the regular teaching hours are completed. These classes are completed before the examinations to help the students score well. The improvements of the students are also evaluated on a regular basis. The following table displays the comprehensive view of the activities carried out by the respective departments.
