In its pursuit of academic innovation and excellence, St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, established the Department of Artificial Intelligence in June 2024. The department offers a three-year undergraduate programme, B.Sc. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and a two-years postgraduate programme, M.Sc. Artificial Intelligence, designed to prepare students to explore the transformative potential of intelligent technologies in the digital world.
The programmes provide a strong foundation in rapidly advancing areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Robotics, Data Science, Internet of Things, Human-Computer Interaction, and Augmented & Virtual Reality. By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical learning, the department enables students to develop technical expertise, analytical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
With a strong emphasis on innovation, research, and industry relevance, the department fosters a vibrant learning environment through modern laboratories, hands-on projects, workshops, internships, and interdisciplinary activities. As a best practice of the department, Professional Skill Development (PSD) courses are specifically conducted for the benefit of our students.
